"Council Of The Year 2014-2015"

Charity - Unity - Fraternity - Patriotism

Our 4 Principles

All the good works we do are informed by our four core principles:

Charity – Love thy neighbor as thyself.
Unity – Together we can accomplish more than any of us could individually.
Fraternity – We watch out for one another and take care of one another.
Patriotism – We are proud of out devotion to God and country, and believe in standing for both.

About Us

Thanks to the efforts of Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven and some of his parishioners, the Connecticut state legislature on March 29, 1882, officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity.

Events

Throughout the year, the Dover Knights of Columbus Council 807 puts on numerous events to help both the church and the surrounding community.  Some of our more popular events are:

  • Our Annual Christmas Tree Drive
  • Keep Christ in Christmas Card Sales
  • Annual Lenten Fish Frys
  • Quarterly Blood Drives with the Red Cross
